Document verification: Receiving and comparing the required import documents (invoices, delivery notes, purchase orders, etc.).
Physical inventory: Directly inspect the quantity, condition, packaging specifications, and sensory quality of goods upon receipt into the warehouse.
Receipt and document preparation: Record the information in the delivery receipt, sign for confirmation with the delivery party, and prepare the Warehouse Receipt .
Sorting and warehousing: Arrange goods in their designated locations in the warehouse (according to the warehouse layout) manually or in coordination with forklift operators.
Receiving the request: Verify the validity of the delivery note or approved order.
Picking: Prepare the correct and sufficient types and quantities of goods as required. Apply inventory management principles such as:
FIFO (First In, First Out): Goods that are received first are sold first.
FEFO (First Expired, First Out): Products that expire first are shipped out first (commonly used for food, cosmetics, and medical supplies).
Packaging and Delivery: Assist with packaging (if needed) and handing over goods to the shipping department or customer, requiring full signature confirmation.
Warehouse layout planning: Arrange goods scientifically, neatly, making them easy to find, see, and retrieve. Ensure clear aisles for people and forklifts.
Goods storage: * Monitor warehouse environmental conditions (temperature, humidity for cold storage, pharmaceutical warehouses, etc.).
Ensure compliance with fire safety and occupational safety standards.
Avoid exposing the goods to moisture, insects, or damage.
Update inventory cards/software: Record daily incoming and outgoing goods logs on inventory cards or enter data into inventory management software (ERP, SAP, WMS...).
Periodic Inventory: Coordinate with the warehouse accountant to conduct periodic inventory checks (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to compare the figures in the books with the actual quantities in the warehouse.
Inventory reporting: Timely report any cases of goods nearing their expiration date, goods that have been in stock for too long (slow-moving or spoiled goods), or damaged goods so that superiors can take appropriate action.
