Job description
A. Prepare and arrange goods on-site.
- Prepare all necessary ingredients, spices, and kitchen utensils as requested by the Head Chef before serving time.
- Prepare fresh food and vegetables in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
- Assist in cooking simple dishes or perform other auxiliary tasks as required.
B. Setting up and managing a buffet line
- Arrange food trays, plates, tongs, and food labels directly on the buffet conveyor belt according to the pre-determined layout.
- Decorate the buffet counter with vegetable sculptures, models, or decorative materials to enhance its aesthetic appeal.
- Ensure all heating devices (food warmers, heaters) are functioning properly with sufficient water and temperature.
C. Service Operation
- Monitor the amount of feed on the conveyor belt; report immediately or replenish feed when it is running low to avoid empty trays.
- Please keep the buffet area clean, and immediately clean up any spilled or scattered food.
- Assist customers at the counter with information about dishes or requests for eating utensils.
D. Cleaning and maintenance
- Clean and disinfect equipment and work areas after completing the service.
- Store leftover ingredients in a warehouse or refrigerator according to labeling and expiration date guidelines (FIFO).
- Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.

Job requirements
- Experience: Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience as a kitchen assistant or sous chef. Experience working in a buffet or banquet setting is an advantage.
- Skill:
- Basic knife skills are required; the ability to chop vegetables or decorate dishes is an advantage.
- Possesses good aesthetic sense and the ability to arrange things neatly and attractively.
- Attributes:
- Quick and agile, with good physical strength to move continuously and carry food trays.
- Careful, clean, and very responsible.
